Hispanicize 2015 is leading the way for Latinas in all industries
Latinas may be underrepresented in Silicon Valley, but not at Hispanicize 2015 being held in Miami, March 16-20.
This year Hispanicize is placing special emphasis on empowering Latinas—from recognizing them as Latinovators for their professional achievements and contributions to the community, to featuring them on panel discussions, and as keynote speakers. Latinas in music and film will also be highlighted.
Hispanicize’s Latina Empowerment Line-up includes:
Women in the Newsroom Session: featuring prominent Latina journalists Mercedes Soler, CNN in Espanol; Maria Elena Salinas, Univision; Shirley Velasquez, Latina Magazine.
Latinovator Awards: featuring Dulce Candy, a woman in her 20s with a remarkable story – she’s a former Army mechanic, Iraq War veteran turned YouTube beauty superstar. There is another woman Latinovator that we’re keeping under wraps, but we promise not to disappoint!
Special Coca-Cola Session titled “Uncap Your Happiness” This session will feature an all women panel consisting of Alba Adamo, Group Director of Hispanic Marketing, Coca-Cola; Maria Celeste, host of Telemundo’s Al Rojo Vivo; Nely Galán, founder of The Adelante Movement; and keynote speaker, Sonja Lyubomirsky, Ph.D., psychology professor, University of California, with more than 20 years to the scientific study of happiness. The session will discuss how we can lead happier, more flourishing lives. It’ll also talk about women empowerment and balancing work and home life.
